Panasonic Toughbook has appointed Alex Gaffney as its EU Technology Alliances Manager, a role focused on strengthening relationships with technology vendors across Europe and supporting the company’s wider mobility ecosystem.
Based in Bracknell, Gaffney will oversee Toughbook’s European vendor partnership strategy, working with suppliers whose technologies integrate with Panasonic’s rugged devices and services. His remit includes coordinating engagement across the region and supporting partners involved in multi‑vendor mobility deployments.
Gaffney joins with experience from Westcoast and Zebra Technologies, where he worked closely with UK VARs and global vendors on alliance development, customer growth initiatives, and partner enablement programmes.
He will report to Chris Turner, Head of Go‑to‑Market (Europe) at Panasonic Toughbook.
In a statement, Gaffney said he aims to build on Toughbook’s existing partner relationships to support frontline mobility projects across Europe. Turner noted that Gaffney’s background across distribution, vendor management, and partner support aligns with the needs of Toughbook’s alliances programme as customers adopt more complex, multi‑technology solutions.
Panasonic continues to expand its service and solutions capabilities through its centres in Cardiff and Budapest, which support European customers with solution design, integration, and deployment. These facilities provide engineering and technical resources for projects involving rugged hardware, software, and managed services, including deployments that incorporate emerging technologies such as AI.
