New feature allows resellers to customise their quotes, including IM and non-IM products

Ingram boosts website with quote tool

Ingram Micro has launched its new online tool designed to help its resellers provide their customers with comprehensive quotes.

The tool, which is now live on Ingram Micro’s website, allows resellers to build a quote based on products not just from the distributor itself, but also from its rivals. It also allows resellers to add the cost of their services, include product recommendations for cross-selling, add shipment costs and work out a their margins based either on a fixed amount or as a percentage of the over all fee.

"It will now be more convenient and effective for our resellers to create and manage quotes for their end-user customers," said Ingram Micro’s senior director of Enterprise Web and EMEA eSolutions, Jonathan Newman.

"Resellers will have the ability to look at the quote preview before sending it to their customers, without any reference to Ingram Micro. In the future they will be able to upload their own company logo and further personalise their quote," he added.

However, the system won’t be reactive to the reseller; Ingram Micro has also built in a number of feature which it feels will help its reseller partners to drive sales. "[Resellers] will also be warned when a quote they have sent to customers is about to expire.

"This new tool extends the support we provide for our resellers throughout their sales process from demand identification through to delivery. It definitely adds value for resellers who will benefit from the functionalities enhanced of our eBusiness offering.

"These latest enhancements fit with Ingram Micro’s strategy to focus on enhancing our eBusiness capabilities, and I am confident that this will strengthen our web offering to resellers throughout our EMEA countries," Newman added.
