Midwich appoints new head of Technology

Midwich has appointed a new head of Technology from within the ranks. Promoted from her role managing the company’s technology specialists and support teams, Jenny Hicks has been named as the new head of department. Joining the UK distributor in 2012, Hicks has moved up the ranks, taking on the role of Technology manager in 2013 before assuming the role she holds now in 2015.

Hicks will now be focussing on UK projects but her role has also been expanded to provide oversight of the Group’s domestic and international technical projects, and will include working closely with the Group’s technical vendors and exploring new technology ventures. She will also be responsible for providing insight and trend analysis to company management in order to support the distributor’s ability to be agile and effective across all target markets.

Speaking about her new role, Jenny said: “I am looking forward to exploring new technology markets, and utilising our global expertise to enhance the group’s capabilities in all territories. The breadth of knowledge across our numerous businesses at group level is Midwich’s greatest strength. Each business is unique in their specialist areas and I am excited to learn from them to drive future opportunities for Midwich.”

Meanwhile, Tom Sumner, European Director, noted: “I am confident that Jenny’s strong technical knowledge, coupled with a sound commercial awareness will therefore be of great benefit to the wider international Group, in addition to our UK operations.”

Midwich’s annual flag ship event, Technology Exposed, takes place on October 11-12 with 1,500 customers expected to visit over 50 exhibiting manufacturers.
