Prestigio partners with Smithie UK to further its retail reach

Prestigio and Smithie UK have announced a partnership that will see the distributor providing Prestigio’s products to its network of retailers and resellers.

The range includes smartphones, tablets, in-car dash cameras and interactive multiboards.

Hamish Munton, UK sales director at Prestigio, commented: “Our committed partnership with Smithie provides huge opportunities to further our retail and etail reach.

“The network already in place is staggering and I am really looking forward to progressing and opening the brand further in the various channels and spaces. Smithie will be our sole distributor of Prestigio products within the UK, something that we are very proud to say and be a part of.”

This new relationship will see Prestigio access a great number of resellers, retailers and etailers, as well as adding to Smithie UK’s product line-up.

“With the products and prices that Prestigio have to offer, it provides a new dimension and makes the portfolio even stronger for both parties,” said the vendor.

Mark Reid, business development manager at Smithie UK emphasised his excitement and what the Prestigio brand brings to the table for the distributor: “Already we have managed to secure great business for Prestigio with some fantastic partners, we only see this growing further and we are all looking forward to a fruitful 2016 and beyond with this excellent brand and product portfolio.”

Last month, PCR reported that Prestigio has appointed Munton as its new sales director for the UK. He replaces Martin MacNamara who left the business in January after being with Prestigio since 2008.

Munton previously worked as UK channel sales manager at Carphone Warehouse. He joined ASBIS – Prestigio’s parent company – in 2014 as UK sales manager.
