QBS Software has entered into a definitive formal agreement to acquire Emerging Market Technologies Trading FXCO (EMT), a value-added distributor founded in 1989 that brings best-in-class cybersecurity, IT asset management, EDR/XDR, vulnerability management, and system integration solutions to the Middle East.
The transaction is expected to close in September 2025, subject to customary regulatory approvals, which will significantly scale QBS’s footprint across the Gulf and the broader Middle East, thereby accelerating the Group’s march toward achieving billion-dollar annual recurring revenues.
The transaction secures QBS a substantial, on-the-ground presence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates, while formalising the Group’s investment-backed expansion into Qatar and the wider Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.
This is QBS’ sixth acquisition in the META region in the last 34 months, making it a significant player in the cybersecurity space.
EMT Distribution serves all six GCC nations and every one of the seven emirates from its regional headquarters in Riyadh and Dubai. It maintains in-country teams in several African countries. Its award-winning growth trajectory and vendor portfolio have made it a strategic cybersecurity and software-distribution partner across the Middle East, Turkey, and Africa (META) since 1989, particularly through its flagship operation in Riyadh, which supports the fast-growing Saudi Arabian market.
The acquisition is a cornerstone in QBS Software’s plan to build a truly pan-EMEA platform capable of delivering vendors’ solutions with local expertise and global scale. EMT’s deep regional knowledge will be matched with QBS’s capital resources, supply-chain infrastructure and market-development programmes, including immediate investment to launch a fully staffed operation in Doha to serve Qatar.
“Bringing EMT onto the QBS model is a decisive step toward our vision of a unified, pan-EMEA software distribution powerhouse,” said Dave Stevinson, CEO, QBS Software. “By combining EMT’s three-plus decades of Middle-East market mastery with the strategy, capital and operational discipline of QBS, we can propel our vendors’ technologies into new territories at pace and with precision.”
Mo Mobasseri, CEO, EMT Distribution, added: “From our first conversation I was struck by the scale of QBS’s ambition and how closely it mirrors our own. With their backing, we will accelerate growth across the Middle East, North, and East Africa while continuing to deliver the responsive, high-touch value added service our partners expect.”
