Enta to launch white label cloud offering in 2016 as analysts forecast further growth

Entatech UK commercial director Dave Stevinson has told PCR the distributor is preparing to launch Enta Cloud.

This will provide resellers with a new white label cloud offering and is set to arrive early next year. 

It aims to be a one stop shop for cloud, boasting cloud management, infrastructure, business apps, security, backup and storage as a service.

Services include auto billing, customisable pricing, auto provision, support, auto management and of course, recurring revenues. It will also feature Office 365, and act as ‘a single portal for licences, migration and support services with a single invoice’.

Stevinson – who was appointed commercial director back in March – told PCR: "Like everybody we’ve got a cloud offering, it’s currently very poor and we’re looking to make it better. One of the key challenges for any distributor is to have a cloud offering which works. 

"We estimate in Q1/Q2 2016 we will launch our Enta Cloud, which will enable the IT resellers to have a white label cloud offering, powered by Enta Cloud.

"Of course it’s important to the future of the company to have a cloud offering, so it’s something we’ve had before which we’ve gradually built up over the past few months."

The news comes as IDC and Cisco publish new research on the cloud sector, with the pair saying cloud has "now moved into a second wave of adoption".

The research found that 53 per cent of IT decision makers at 3,400 organisations worldwide expect cloud to drive increased revenue over the next two years.

44 per cent of organisations are now either using or planning to implement private cloud.

Plus, UK businesses stand to realise, on average, over £1 milllion per application deployed in additional revenue and reduced cost.

However, this will be challenging for many UK organisations where only 27 per cent have managed ‘mature’ cloud strategies, and 31 per cent currently have no cloud strategy at all.

Nick Earle, Cisco’s senior VP for global cloud and managed services sales, said: "As we talk with customers interested in moving to the second wave of cloud, they are far more focused on private and hybrid cloud – primarily because they realize that private and hybrid offer the security, performance, price, control and data protection organisations are looking for during their expanded efforts."

Seven key findings from the report

  • Enablement of the Internet of Things contributes nearly 10 per cent to the additional £1 million achieved in additional revenue and reduced costs enabled by cloud
  • Two thirds of cloud adopters say that OpenStack is an important part of their cloud strategy
  • Public sector adoption of cloud is the lowest of all vertical industries (22 per cent) compared with manufacturing (33 per cent), IT (30 per cent) and finance (29 per cent)
  • 38 per cent of British organisations are using or planning to use public cloud, and 49 per cent are using or planning to use private cloud
  • The US has the most mature cloud adoption, with 34 per cent of firms having a cloud strategy, the UK is close behind with a 27 per cent cloud adoption rate
  • Organisations studied are gaining an average of $1.6 million in additional revenue per application deployed on private or public cloud. They are also achieving $1.2 million in cost reduction per cloud-based application.
  • Up to 70 per cent of respondents expect to migrate data between public and private clouds (or among multiple cloud providers) and have high security and policy requirements
