Computing vendor Dell is close to announcing a new channel distribution deal with Tech Data, PCR understands.
Dell is expected to announce a deal with supplier Tech Data soon, which, according to sources, is due to cover overall B2B distribution, not retail.
The company has upped its focus on UK distribution of late, with an expansion of its partnership with Ingram Micro in late 2014, an Exertis/Dell demo suite, as well as newer developments in that area with Ingram.
Dell’s UK sales executive director and general manager Sarah Shields was also recently promoted to cover distribution sales, as well as consumer, SME and channel sales.
Last year Dell hinted it would consider supplying its Alienware gaming branded products to retailers for the first time. But it currently only sells that brand direct to consumer.
