Distributor Midwich and specialist displays vendor EIZO are to partner once again, after 13 years apart.
The companies, which were both formerly owned by Raab Karcher, which was part of the Veba group, were sold as part of a $2 billion (£1.29 billion) sale of Raab Karcher’s electronics division in 2000. Of the 20 companies sold at the time, only Midwich and EIZO, which was known at the time as PDS, remain trading today.
EIZO specialises in high-spec displays for sectors demanding high definition systems, such as medical, design, video-editing and publishing. The vendor ended its two-decade relationship with distributor Avnet almost two years ago in order to expand its channel proposition, with a team of 15 moving away from Avnet at the start of last year.
“This is a great fit”, said Darren Lewitt, Midwich’s AV Director. “I remember the MEMEC days in the early 90s before the Raab Karcher acquisition and, although the scales of both operations have changed, both companies still have a similar ethos.”

EIZO will be present at Midwich’s Technology Exposed event at Ascot on September 18th and 19th.
