HP enters retail

HP is preparing to follow the likes of Apple, Samsung and Sony into the retail sector as it unveiled plans to open its first HP Experience store in South Africa, however, the firm has said that it currently has no plans to do so in the UK.

The store, which will be ran by retail partner Digital Planet, is due to open on April 1st and will sell the vendor’s entire range, including PCs, laptops, imaging products and printers.

A spokeswoman for HP told PC Retail: "We currently have no plans to open a HP Experience store in the UK."

Speaking to South African paper The Times, Digital Planet’s director and co-founder, Neil Watson said: "As the store name implies, it will be all about the experience. We want to entice consumers and provide them with an opportunity to engage with the latest and most exciting HP technology."
