New gear: HP Z workstations, Acer Chromebase Meeting solution, XYZPrinting 3-in-1 3D printer, Nvidia Tesla P100 GPU

Here’s our roundup of the latest hardware, components, peripherals and products from the tech and IT channel announced this week.

HP Z840, Z640 AND Z440 DESKTOPS
The refreshed HP Z840, Z640 and Z440 desktop workstations feature next generation multi-core Intel Xeon processors, the latest graphics options from Nvidia Quadro and AMD FirePro, as well as a choice of Microsoft or Linux operating systems. With the new Intel Xeon E5-2600 v4 series processors, HP Z Workstations will support faster memory speeds than the previous generation processors, up to 2400MHz and can support up to 44 physical cores per-workstation.

ACER CHROMEBASE MEETING SOLUTION
Acer’s Chromebase for meetings (CA24V) is the world’s first touchscreen Chromebase for meetings. Utilising Google Hangouts, it can host video conferences with up to 25 participants across a variety of devices. It features the largest screen of all Chrome OS devices on the market, a 23.8-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) display with IPS technology.

XYZPRINTING 3-IN-1 PRINTER RANGE
XYZprinting has announced the latest addition to its da Vinci 3D printer range. The da Vinci 1.0 Pro 3in1 features a hi-res integrated 3D scanner to recreate objects digitally within minutes to industrial-grade resolution, as well as an aluminium print bed to spread heat evenly during a print, a low maintenance extruder design and improved calibration for exceptional professional results.

NVIDIA TESLA P100 GPU
Nvidia is calling the new Tesla P100 the ‘most advanced datacentre GPU ever built’. It’s purpose-built as the most advanced datacentre accelerator ever. Tesla GPU with NVLINK will deliver up to 50X performance boosts for data centre applications.

HUAWEI P9 AND P9 PLUS SMARTPHONES
The Huawei P9 is the first smartphone co-engineered with the global brand Leica Camera AG. With a 5.2-inch 1080p display, the P9 is powered by the new Kirin 955 2.5GHz 64-bit ARM-based processor. It also comes with a 3,000mAh high-density battery. Huawei has also unveiled the P9 Plus, featuring a 5.5-inch Press Touch display and a larger 3,400mAh battery. The P9 Plus also offers dual-IC Rapid Charge, giving users six hours of talk time after a 10-minute charge.

ROKU STREAMING STICK
Roku has introduced a new slimmer Streaming Stick that runs faster than its predecessor. The new Stick is Wi-Fi-equipped and is the first Roku product available with the new 7.1 OS. There’s a new Roku Mobile app that makes private listening through a smartphone or tablet available only with the Stick. The Streaming Stick is available now for £49.99.

DEIM 3D VR HEADSET
DEIM 3D Virtual Reality headset is a light mobile VR aimed at consumers interested in virtual reality but not willing to shell out on the more expensive headsets. The headset is compatible with Android and iOS phones within 4.7 inch to 6-inch screen sizes. The device comes with special optics designed to adjust pupil distance and focal length making the user watch the 3D effect in clear vision and with 110 degree field of view to enhance the immersive experience. It is available for £39.99.

VEHO MUVI K2 PRO HANDSFREE CAMERA
Veho’s new Muvi K2 Pro handsfree camera has launched with AX-9 Hercules chipset, 4K video and LCD Touchscreen.

BOOSTY BOX
The Boosty box plugs into your home broadband router and uses Wi-Fi to connect to your mobile data network via an app, which you can download in the Apple or Play store. With mobile data typically costing more than home broadband, Boosty only sends traffic over mobile when absolutely necessary. It looks to see if your home broadband connection is full for a period of time, then increases how much of the mobile network connection is opened up. Boosty costs £69.00 and is available now.

TAPPYTAPS BABY MONITOR 3G
TappyTaps has released a new version of what it claims is the most popular Baby Monitor 3G parenting app. This new update brings new video and audio quality that allows parents to see their baby in HD quality.

TOSHIBA SSD Q300 PRO
Toshiba has announced its internal 2.5”/7mm Solid State Drives (SSDs) with advanced, high-performance 15nm flash memory technology. As well as enhancing performance and reducing power consumption, the evolution from 19nm to 15nm flash sees the maximum available capacity of the Toshiba SSD Q300 Pro family rise to 1024 GB.

RAZER HAMMERHEAD PRO V2 HEADSET
Razer has announced the release of the new Hammerhead Pro V2 headset and Hammerhead V2 in-ear headphones. Both have an enhanced chassis that is CNC milled out of aircraft-grade aluminium, and flat-style cables that are ideal for mobile gaming and music use. Engineered for improved acoustic clarity and more powerful bass, the in-ear headset and headphone are equipped with extra-large 10 mm dynamic drivers – a 20 per cent increase from their forerunners.

AOC STYLE LINE DISPLAYS
After launching the first two models in October 2015, AOC has further extended the range of its Style line displays. With the new 21.5″ and 23″ versions, the nearly borderless design with its unique stand will now also be available for smaller desks and offices. The latest IPS panels, Flicker Free technology and HDMI input are featured.
