Zyxel Networks has introduced the GS1915v2 smart managed switch series, a nine‑model line designed to help small businesses and their channel partners install and manage networks in tight or improvised spaces.
The portfolio includes 8‑, 10‑, 16‑ and 24‑port options with PoE and non‑PoE variants, fibre uplinks and fanless models for noise‑sensitive environments. Zyxel said the range is intended for offices, shops and clinics where switches are often placed under counters or in storage areas with limited access to power and ventilation.
Kell Lin, Senior Associate Vice President Networking Strategic Business Unit at Zyxel Networks, said the series gives small businesses more freedom to place switches where they are needed while keeping management simple for partners supporting multiple customer sites.
The GS1915v2 line offers PoE budgets from 60W to 180W, with one model able to draw power from an upstream PoE switch when no outlet is available. Units can be installed on desktops, walls, racks or DIN rails, and fanless or smart‑fan designs support quiet operation.
Management options include local controls or cloud management through Zyxel’s Nebula platform, which provides remote configuration and monitoring. The switches add enhanced ACL and Dynamic VLAN features, and a redesigned front panel aims to make status checks clearer.
Zyxel has also updated packaging to reduce waste and improve pallet density, reporting shipping efficiency gains of up to 198% compared with the previous generation. A front‑panel button allows users to turn off LEDs in low‑light environments.
