Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH has expanded the availability of its S300 AI Surveillance Hard Drive, introducing retail packaging to make the AI‑optimised range easier for professional users to source through retail and e‑commerce channels. First launched in bulk packaging in November 2025, the S300 AI now supports a wider variety of purchasing models while retaining its enterprise‑grade performance and reliability for surveillance deployments.
Aimed at system integrators, IT resellers and security installers deploying advanced video analytics, the retail-packaged S300 AI enables customers to purchase replacement drives or smaller deployment quantities through established retail and online distribution routes. Toshiba says this approach broadens access beyond traditional surveillance distribution while ensuring users continue to benefit from storage designed specifically for AI‑enabled workloads.
The S300 AI is engineered for mixed sequential recording and random-access activity created when AI software continuously analyses video. Capacities span from 8TB to 24TB, with performance tuned for high‑resolution recording and AI‑driven surveillance. The drive supports up to 64 camera streams alongside 32 additional AI streams, targeting demanding commercial and public‑sector environments across transportation, manufacturing, smart cities, healthcare, finance and logistics.
Durability remains a core focus. The S300 AI offers a 550TB‑per‑year workload rating, an MTTF of up to 2.5 million hours, support for multi‑bay RAID systems and a five‑year limited warranty.

The retail-packaged S300 AI will be available from the end of Q3/beginning of Q4 2026.
