TP-Link's AX6600 Tri-Band Gigabit WiFi 6 Router

TP-Link’s new tri-band WiFi 6 Router with IoT protection

TP-Link’s newly released Archer AX90 is a AX6600 Tri-Band Gigabit WiFi 6 Router. Features include a powerful quad-core Broadcom CPU, protected by the company’s brand new HomeShield security system.

The Archer AX90 incorporates TP-Link’s OneMesh technology to eliminate wireless dead-zones and boost signal strength throughout the home. Using two OneMesh compatible devices (router and range extender or powerline adapter), it connects devices with the strongest wireless signal  throughout the home.

Full-Speed WiFi 6 for Multiple 8K
This router has 8-Stream WiFi 6 with OFDMA, 1024-QAM, a faster symbol rate, and TWT to provide faster speeds, broader coverage, higher capacity, and better power savings. Other features include, 4×4 MU-MIMO and HT160, enabling multiple clients to reach up to 4.8 Gbps WiFi speed. It supports simultaneous transmissions with lower latency thanks to OFDMA integration, keeping multiple 8K streams smooth and lag free.

Accessible Tri-Band WiFi 6
Three asymmetrical WiFi 6 bands – 4804 Mbps (5 GHz) + 1201 Mbps (5 GHz) + 574 Mbps (2.4 GHz) are offered to boost signal directions, broaden coverage, clear out congestions, and reduce interference. As different bands work on separate channels, tri-band routers form more signal beams at the same time without creating interference. 5GHz WiFi connections are highly suited for devices such as games consoles and smart TVs which require high bandwidth levels for seamless streaming and in-play experiences. Meanwhile, 2.4GHz provides strong WiFi connections for less bandwidth-demanding devices and smart home devices that operate outside of the Zigbee or Z-wave IoT channels.

One 2.5Gbps port, four Gigabit ports and dual USB ports provide versatile connectivity for this network hub. The function of the 2.5Gbps WAN/LAN port and Gigabit WAN/LAN port can easily be tweaked in the intuitive management panel to deliver a more user-friendly experience.

Two USB ports add a practical tool for users to easily store and share across the home network. Built-in VPN server functions allow secure access to files from outside.

HomeShield Powered by Avira
The all-new HomeShield powered by Avira makes Archer AX90 the first TP-Link router able to guard IoT smart home devices. With Avira’s AI technology and deep antivirus experience, HomeShield on the Archer AX90 starts by securing the home WiFi gateway and continues to protect the home network and all devices.

“Future-proofing home networks with network speed and security is more important than ever. We’re proud to make this vision a reality with the Archer AX90. Equipped with OneMesh technology, the AX90 provides a flexible whole-home WiFi ecosystem that boosts signal strength and allows for an uninterrupted experience. We are excited to be launching our latest WiFi 6 router and support consumer connectivity needs as our work, lives and homes become smarter and more digital,’ commented Will Liu, Managing Director at TP-Link UK.
