Are you ready to download Windows 10?

Microsoft’s Windows 10 is set to launch in just two days (July 29th), but are you prepared?

The new operating system will have a number of updated features to benefit business users but there are some simple preparations that can be easily overlooked from both enterprises and home users.

It may seem obvious, but it’s important to make sure your PC or fleet of devices are actually compatible with Windows 10.

While Microsoft has said that the new OS will work on most PCs, it’s worth checking all your devices meet these minimum system requirements:

– The latest version of Windows 7 or 8.1

– 1GB or faster processor, 1GB of RAM for 32-bit, or 2GB for 64-bit

– 1024×600 display

– DirectX 9 or later graphics card with WDDM 1.0 driver

It goes without saying that you’ll be backing up files in preparation for the new download, but also bear in mind that you’ll need at least 16GB of space to install Windows 10.

Finally, make sure you’ve actually reserved your copy of Windows 10.

All you need to do is click ‘Reserve your free upgrade’ in the app windows on your Windows device and enter your email to confirm the reservation.

Windows 10 will launch on July 29th globally and will be available as a free upgrade to customers using Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 in 190 countries.
