Exertis has appointed Ian Neale as its new AV business unit manager, following his departure from rival distie Tech Data Maverick.
Neale will be based in Exertis’ Basingstoke office, and brings over 20 years of channel experience to the role, as well as 10 years of knowledge from the AV sector.
He will be responsible for heading up the distributor’s LFD, commercial and hotel TV and digital signage sector.
At the distributor, Neale will also help to increase market share for Exertis and its vendors, and come up with initiatives to help Exertis provide the best service for its customers.
While Neale was at Tech Data, he looked after the Pro AV/enterprise sales channel. Prior to this, he held various business management positions.
Neale said: “Exertis’ unique ability to service both AV and IT customers effectively under one roof with market leading brands makes this role extremely exciting.
“I’m very keen to use my experience and contacts to build on the excellent results that Exertis’ existing AV team has achieved so far, and steer it onto a path that leads to further success.”
Ian Aitken, general manager for the visual division at Exertis, added: “With his wealth of experience across many product areas and a number of great relationships with key resellers in the channel, Ian joining the AV team gives its experience, knowledge and industry contacts a further boost.”
