Around half of business leaders in the UK do not use video conferencing systems perhaps, because they were put off by early versions, says tech supplier Centerprise International.
The service provider and distributor conducted a survey of business leaders, and found that half of all respondents do not currently use video conferencing technology.
29 per cent have tried it before but don’t currently use it, while 21 per cent haven’t tried it at all. 50 per cent of business leaders currently use video conferencing tech.
Centerprise hopes its Mix Connect video conferencing offering will get more businesses using the technology. The service runs on its own private and encrypted network and promises ‘unrivalled flexibility at low cost’.
It can run on a company’s existing laptops and desktop PCs, or on tablets and smartphones, across a network, and can be bolstered by bespoke telepresence hardware for meeting rooms or board rooms.
Richard Austin, director at Centerprise International, said: "It’s clear from our research that many business leaders have not used video conferencing for a long time, perhaps because they were frustrated by its limitations while the technology was in its infancy.
“It’s time they tried it again – Mix Connect is a game-changer. It is pin-sharp, flexible, incredibly secure and lag-free – a world away from the cumbersome systems of old. And because companies don’t need to provide any extra equipment, it’s an incredibly versatile and cost-effective service.”
Centerprise previously signed a multi-year deal with Her Majesty’s Treasury to supply services including video conferencing.
