IT giant snaps up Belgium based value-added distribution operation

Ingram Micro buys interAct

Ingram Micro has acquired interAct BVBA – a value-added distribution company headquartered in Aartselaar, Belgium.

The firm serves a network of over 500 customers in Belgium and Luxembourg with hardware, software and services. The purchase will boost Ingram Micro’s presence in the Benelux region.

interAct’s CEO Rudi Lenaerts will be made director of the Value Division, reporting to Ingram Micro Belgium’s managing director Steve Meynen. He will lead Ingram Micro’s value business for the Benelux region, now including interAct and Ingram Micro’s existing team.

The firm is the main distributor in the region for Citrix, and also offers RES Software, DataCore, Endeavors Technologies, i365, IGEL, Immidio, Lanamark, Marathon, Platform Computing, AppSense, ScriptLogic, ThinPrint, VASCO and visionapp.

Ingram Micro EMEA President, Alain Maquet, said, "Ingram Micro is focused on gaining scale and growing expertise in the value market. InterAct is a very specialized team of 15 focused persons which will add significantly to our overall strategy in this space. This latest acquisition is the third we’ve made in Europe in less than a year in this area and is yet another indication of our commitment to expand rapidly with value and create competitive advantage."

The move follows the acquisitions of CCD and Albora Soluciones in Europe.
