Creative tablet firm cites distributor's access to resellers as key to its success

Wacom signs Ingram as it readies major UK push

Wacom has signed a distribution deal with Ingram Micro to carry its products in the UK, as it launches a major drive to improve its presence in the market.

The vendor said Ingram Micro’s size and access to resellers it deems key was the reasoning behind the deal. "We have selected the company [Ingram Micro] with a view to widening our reach in the UK," explained director of sales and business development for Wacom Europe, Frans Ditmer.

Wacom has said that it is looking to move its products into new market, where it does not traditionally have a presence, and that resellers would be key to its succces in these markets. "Ingram Micro has an extensive customer base with access to key resellers within new vertical and corporate markets, which are of growing importance to us," added Ditmar.

The vendor added that its previous relationships with the distributor in other regions had born significant success. "Ingram Micro has an impressive global presence and has helped to establish Wacom in several other major territories."

Ingram Micro said that it was confident that it could help Wacom expand into these markets. "Using our marketing expertise and extensive reseller network, we aim to improve Wacom’s presence in the UK market," commented Ingram commercial director Mike Farrah (pictured). "For digital content creators, Wacom is highly recognised as the leading brand and the Bamboo range of pen tablets in particular will be of great interested for consumers.
