The distributor bolsters its portfolio with new products from Sony and Sapphire

VIP boosts line up

VIP has added the Sony NEC Optiarc brand to its optical drive portfolio, while bolstering the its graphics card range with the Sapphire HD 2900 XT series.

The Sony NEC Optiarc DVD/RW optical drives are the result of a joint effort between Sony and NEC. At the top of the range, the AD-7173S model is a multi-format DVD re-writer drive that supports all current DVD and CD formats. It features a DVD write speed of 18x, a high speed S-ATA interface and Labelflash laser labelling technology.

“Optiarc is a new joint venture between Sony and NEC and aims to become the world’s number one supplier of optical products. VIP is always keen to work with the leading players in the market and feel that the Optiarc brand will enhance our portfolio and provide our customers with an excellent product and great value for money,“ said Darren Capon, product manager at VIP.

Meanwhile, the Sapphire HD 2900 XT series is now also available from the distributor. The graphics cards are loaded with ATI Avivo HD technology, plug-n-play CrossFire for both AMD and Intel chipsets and ATI’s Catalyst software.

“The Sapphire HD 2900 XT offers outstanding performance for the price,” said Matt Parrish, product manager at VIP. “The graphics market in 2007 is demanding DirectX 10 gaming and HD video for Windows Vista, and the new ATI Radeon HD series allows Sapphire retailers to provide exactly that.”
