The PlayStation 4 (PS4) WILL be released in the UK this November, according to retailers PC World and Currys.
The pair has just revealed their Top Ten Tech Gifts for Christmas 2013 list, with Microsoft’s Xbox One at number one and Sony’s PS4 second.
A statement from Currys and PC World read: "For the first time in over six years two of the biggest names in gaming – Xbox and Sony PlayStation – will release a new console to market.
"The hotly anticipated Xbox One and PS4 – both launching in November – take poll positions in this year’s Top 10 list from Currys & PC World."
A firm release date for PS4 has not yet been set by Sony, although reports circulated last month about a retailer listing the console with a November 13th launch.
Sony dismissed this as "pure speculation", and pointed out its "holiday 2013" launch window.
PCR has reached out to Sony for confirmation following PC World’s and Currys’ statement.
