JumpCloud has expanded its Agentic IAM capabilities to give IT teams unified control over identities spanning employees, devices and AI agents. The update enables organisations to manage agent access to data, applications and automated tasks through the same infrastructure used for human users.
With AI agents now performing a growing share of operational work, governance remains a major gap: only 21% of IT teams have adopted controls for them. JumpCloud’s approach ties every agent to a human owner, tracks its lifecycle from creation to retirement, and prevents unassigned agents from running.
The platform introduces three core management pillars: visibility and ownership of all agents; identity and access controls linking agent actions to their human owners; and privileged access rules that grant temporary, least‑privilege permissions for automated tasks. This allows organisations to connect AI safely to legacy systems without major upgrades.
“AI agents are changing how identity management works,” said Joel Rennich, senior vice president, product management at JumpCloud. “IT must know which agents exist, who owns them, and what they can touch.”

JumpCloud is extending identity security beyond people and devices to agents, so organisations can accelerate AI adoption without creating a new security blind spot.”
New capabilities include unique agent identities with instant revocation, automated discovery of hidden MCP setups routed through the JumpCloud AI Gateway, uniform policy enforcement across SaaS tools, and a zero‑setup PAM MCP server arriving before the end of Q4 2026.
