Rubrik and Sophos have partnered to deliver Microsoft 365 Backup and Recovery for Sophos MDR and XDR customers. The solution will be integrated into Sophos Central, allowing IT and security teams to manage protection and recovery from a single platform.
The new offering is designed to help organisations recover quickly from ransomware, account takeovers, insider threats, and accidental data loss across Microsoft 365 services such as SharePoint, Exchange, OneDrive, and Teams. It aims to provide secure, tamper-resistant backups that remain protected even if login credentials are compromised. Recovery is flexible, designed to allow organisations to restore data to original or alternate accounts, including inactive users. The system also automates the discovery of Microsoft 365 users and applies policies with minimal manual effort.

Sophos research shows that many organisations still pay ransoms to recover data, and that Microsoft 365 accounts are frequent targets for attackers. This partnership aims to close those gaps by combining Sophos’ threat detection with Rubrik’s recovery capabilities.
