Brother UK launches new device to help businesses cut out admin

Business technology solutions provider Brother UK has launched its first A4 inkjet model that features an in-built guillotine for simple A5 printing, creating new opportunities for resellers with small businesses and home user customers.

The DCP-J1800DW includes an automatic guillotine that enables users to print in A5 without needing pre-cut paper, cutting A4 paper in half as it prints. The printer is designed to meet the needs of small businesses, from creating flyers to customer letters or menu printouts at restaurants.

The device can also help home users for arts and crafts, bespoke greetings cards and wedding stationery.

The launch follows findings from Brother that revealed nearly half (46%) of inkjet users cut A4 paper into halves before or after printing. Of people who cut A4 paper in half, more than 70% said they did so routinely, and half (51%) said that they did this because they found changing between A4 and A5 paper troublesome*.

The new device represents a sister model to Brother’s A4 Mini Regular inkjet series. As with the rest of the printers in the range, the DCP-J1800DW model offers print, copy and scan functionality with a 6.8cm LCD touchscreen, in addition to the precise and efficient A4 to A5 cutting feature. It also offers wireless connectivity and can be operated using the Brother Mobile Connect app.
