Sophos Opens Additional Office in the Deansgate District of Manchester, UK

Sophos is opening an additional office in the Deansgate district of Manchester, UK.

“The new office in Manchester is an exciting move to support Sophos’ strategic growth. With the additional sales resources, we can further our plans already well underway to focus on the fastest growing part of our business – our next-gen cybersecurity portfolio,” said Jonathan Bartholomew, vice president of sales, Northern Europe, Sophos. “Manchester is a vibrant city, the National Cyberforce recently announced an office there, and the location is rapidly becoming the biggest technology hub in the UK outside of London. We are thrilled to be able to offer a new state-of-the-art working environment for our staff and join the business community.”

Manchester provides access to multiple, large and diverse talent pools, including students from the region’s five universities. Sophos will continue to operate from its core office in Abingdon, UK, and is hiring for positions there, as well.

The news follows Sophos’ successful 2020 with 11% year-over-year billings growth from 2019 globally, at constant currency. In addition to the overall billing’s growth, Sophos has seen increased demand for its Managed Threat Response (MTR)  and Rapid Response services. Sophos MTR now protects more than 5,000 customers worldwide. Sophos also recently acquired Capsule8 and Braintrace to expand its adaptive cybersecurity ecosysystem, which underpins the company’s security services and products, including new Extended Detection and Response (XDR) solutions.

Sophos plans to open the new Manchester office in the second half of 2021, as per ongoing COVID-19 safety guidelines. The company is hiring a multitude of sales, technical and account management positions.
