Cloudian has appointed Carsten Graf as senior director of sales, EMEA. Graf, who joined Cloudian in 2018 as director of sales for the DACH region, will now lead the company’s sales and business development activities for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Over the past three years, Graf built a strong sales team and channel program in DACH that drove significant growth and key customer wins in the region. Prior to joining Cloudian, he served as managing director at SaaS provider Code42. Other highlights in Graf’s 25-year sales career include working at major technology companies such as Verizon and TÜV Süd.
Jon Ash, vice president of worldwide sales at Cloudian, said: “Carsten has played a central role in Cloudian’s success, including our record sales and record customer growth last fiscal year, in which we expanded our EMEA customer base by 41%. He’s done a great job in DACH, a key market for us, bringing together outside and inside sales, system engineering and marketing resources and spearheading the expansion of our channel and technology partner network. Under Carsten’s leadership, we will continue to grow our EMEA business by helping customers meet their ever-evolving data management and protection needs.”
Graf said: “This is an exciting time for Cloudian, as organisations of all sizes increasingly seek storage solutions with the scalability and flexibility of public clouds in their own data centres, where they can keep control of their data and avoid egress costs. Our native S3-compatible storage platform not only addresses this need but also enables seamless cloud integration for hybrid environments ─ including supporting modern, cloud-native applications on-premises.”
Over the past year, Cloudian has extended its object storage leadership, delivering new ransomware protection and flash-optimized solutions and enhancing its partnerships with VMware and Veeam.
