CES 2016: Parrot Disco drone, Haier Cloudbooks, HP Spectre x360 and EliteBook Folio

As the CES 2016 announcements continue, we round up the latest products unveiled.

Parrot drones, connected objects and automotive products
Parrot has unveiled two new drones. The first is the Parrot Disco, which is a wing-shaped ultra-light drone with an integrated front camera. The other is the Parrot Bebop 2, which weighs just 500g and has an integrated full-HD wide-angle camera.

Parrot is also showcasing some new connected objects such as the Parrot POT which measures the parameters critical to a plant’s growth. There’s also the Parrot Simple Box car receiver and the Smart Antenna multi-radio tuner on show at CES.

Garmin Drive
Garmin has announces the new Garmin Drive product line. The easy-to-use portable navigation devices (PNDs) are specifically designed to help increase driver situational awareness.

HP Spectre x360 and EliteBook Folio
HP has a number of laptops at CES 2016, including the Spectre x360 models. The 15.6-inch version comes with a 4K display, OLED and Bang & Olufsen audio. The 13.3-inch model has an OLED Quad HD display. The 15.6-inch Spectre x360 will start at £1,000 and is available in January. The 13.3-inch will be available in the spring.

HP has also announced the EliteBook Folio, which it claims is the world’s thinnest and lightest business class notebook. It is 12.4mm thin and weighs less than a kilo. It will be available from March with a starting price of $999.

Netatmo Presence
Netatmo has unveiled Presence, an outdoor security camera able to detect and report on people, cars and animals. Once installed outside, Presence analyses in real-time if someone loiters around the home, a car enters the driveway or a pet is in the yard. It understands what it sees and notifies the user if something is detected in the monitored area.

Lenovo YOGA 900S
Lenovo has a whole host of devices at this year’s show, one of which is the YOGA 900S, which the firm claims is the world’s thinnest convertible laptop. The device is 12.8mm thin and weighs 999g. Other features include Windows 10, 10.5 hours of video playback, a 360-degree watchband hinge and Intel Core m7 processor.

Haier Cloudbooks
Haier is launching two Cloudbooks at CES, including the Cloudbook HT1401 based on Windows 10. The HT1401 features a 14.1-inch display and is powered by an Intel quad-core Bay Trail processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a microSD port capable of extending memory capacity to 64GB. Its 10000mAh lithium-ion polymer battery offers 6 – 8 hours battery.

PitPat wearable tech for pets
UK firm PitPat is launching at CES, showcasing its wearable tech for pets. It is essentially a fitbit for dogs, allowing owners to continually track all aspects of their dog’s lifestyle.
