Lenovo is planning to release its first PC on a stick in time for the 2015 back-to-school period.
Speaking to PCR, Lenovo’s UK consumer director Alex Ebeid revealed that the firm is planning to release a number of form factors: “In the entry level there’s the PC on a stick market and the small form factor market, and you’ll see Lenovo provide solutions in both of those markets, and you’ll see us go after both of those markets in the near future.
"We’ve got a PC on a stick launching for back-to-school."
Lenovo will be competing with the likes of Intel’s Compute stick and Dell’s Wyse Cloud Connect in a new market which looks set to grow quite rapidly over the next few years.
Lenovo recently revealed its new UK boss – the firm’s current VP and general manager of the North region in EMEA, David McQuarrie.
Other recent Lenovo appointments include Liu Jun, who has been promoted to a special consultant role to the CEO on mobile business and strategy, and Chen Xudong, who has been appointed to leader of MBG and chairman of Motorola Mobility.
