Flex 2 devices can transform to a variety of different shapes by rotating touchscreen display by up to 300 degrees

Lenovo announces Flex 2

Lenovo has announced two new products in their Flex range of transforming laptops.

The ‘Flex 2’ pair of Windows 8.1 devices will feature either a 14-inch or 15.6-inch touchscreen display, with the choice of either an Intel Core i7 processor with an Nvidia GPU or an AMD A8 processor with the AMD Radeon R5 M230 graphics chip.

Up to 1TB of hard drive or hybrid solid-state hard drive storage capacity, or 256GB of solid-state storage, is also on offer.

The devices will feature dual digital microphones and a 720p HD webcam for video chatting. Stereo speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio v2 technology are also included.

As with the original line of Flex devices, the form of the Flex 2 devices can transform to a variety of different shapes by rotating the display by up to 300 degrees, with the keyboard able to be flipped backwards to be used as a stand or folded flat to act like a tablet.

The Flex 2 laptops are expected to be released in the US at the start of June, with prices starting at $429 (£256). Details of a UK release date and prices are yet to be revealed.
