TomTom's Senior Vice President of Marketing shares his view

TomTom on charity’s call to ban hands-free kits: “Safety is our No.1 concern”

TomTom has responded to Brake’s request to ban hands-free smartphone car kits in the UK.

The charity urged the UK Government to ban the devices earlier this week as part of its Road Safety Week initiative.

Sat nav maker TomTom shared its thoughts on Brake’s campaign.

"Safety is our number one concern," Gary Raucher, TomTom’s Senior Vice President of Marketing, told PCR.

"We design all of our products that we will allow people to get the information that they need, when they need it, so they can make the best possible driving decisions. We’ve demonstrated that that actually leads to safer driving. We’ve made it very easy to get access to information at glance."

TomTom also said its live traffic updates are better than Google Maps’, and it recently launched a marketing campaign in the UK including the ‘first improv comedy show on wheels’.
