Distributor also hits new customer milestone

Target Open Day 2013 workshops “help improve IT resellers’ business”

Target Components has revealed details of its ShopTalk workshops taking place at its 2013 Open Day which takes place on September 13th.

The distributor’s workshops feature original content created specifically for independent IT resellers. For example, previous workshops have dispelled the age old myth of supermarkets being cheaper.

There are four sessions over the course of the day this year, starting at 10am with the results of the second National Retail Price Comparison, and how it can be used to maximise sales and profits and still beat the big guys.

The second workshop shows how the success story of British cycling can be used to create success for IT resellers, while session three – “the truth about price competition and how to do it” – covers what price competition really means and how to do it well, including the truth about Tesco’s exit from IT.

The fourth session offers attendees a series of practical tips on “how to compete so you’ll always win”, highlighting where and how indies should focus their efforts for maximum impact.

Microsoft will also be presenting two sessions at the Target Open Day 2013. The first will be on Windows 8.1 and the second on Office 365.

The news comes as Target celebrates its 15th birthday and passes 15,000 spending customers since its launch in 1998 – a new milestone for the distributor. The 15,000 customer was PC and Laptop Fix It of Heywood, which received an Samsung Galaxy tablet from Target.

“Our customers aren’t interested in sales pitches dressed up as advice or in the same old generic ‘advice’ dug up off the internet," said Target MD Paul Cubbage.

"They want practical help on how to genuinely improve their business. That’s why we create original content for all our Shoptalk sessions based specifically on the needs of small IT resellers. Everything in the workshops is brand new content that has never been heard before or elsewhere, and that’s why they prove so popular with our customers."

The Target Open Day will be taking place at De Vere Village Hotel in Leeds on September 13th. Registration is open here: https://www.targetcomponents.co.uk/Openday/2013Register.asp
