Vendor looks to capitalise upon demand for small format PCs

BenQ joins netbook fray

BenQ has become the latest vendor to announce plans to launch a netbook, the Joybook Lite.

The firm revealed its intentions yesterday at a press conference, with BenQ’s chief executive and president Conway Lee telling the assembled media: "For our new products, we hope we can have about five percent market share in one to two years."

Lee did not give detailed sales or shipment forecasts for the Joybook Lite, which weighs about one kilo and has a ten-inch display, reported Reuters.
