Networking vendor brings new wireless draft-standard to market

Edimax releases 802.11n solution

Edimax has launched what it claims it is the first set of N-draft standard wireless solutions to market.

The n-Max series consists of a wireless broadband router (BR-6504n), card bus (EW-7708Pn), PCI card (EW-7728In) and a USB adapter (EW-7718Un).

Based on the draft 802.11n standard, the n-Max solutions offer data transmission rates up to 300Mbps and a significantly increased wireless coverage. The n-Max broadband router features wi-fi Protected Setup (WPS), which allows users to set up wireless security simply by pushing the pairing button on the router.

The new Edimax n-MAX products are based on Ralink MIMObility technology that was recently selected as an official test bed (benchmark) by the Wi-Fi Alliance, ensuring Ralink to be among the first chipsets to become Wi-Fi 802.11n certified.
