New mobile-PC add-on designed for elderly and disabled users.

BT takes motion-control to PC

A new mobile-PC accessory from BT is to implement similar technologies to those seen in Nintendo’s recent Wii console to allow users to control their devices using movement.

Balance plugs into tablet PCs via the USB terminal and can be programmed to control the cursor or a variety of other functions, including turning the device on or off or emptying the recycle bin.

BT is pitching Balance as an accessory to help elderly or disabled PC users who have problems operating tiny keyboards.

No price or release date has yet been announced.
