One of the first ever computers produced by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the Apple 1, has sold at auction for almost $400,000.
The computer, that was hand-built in Steve Jobs’ parent’s garage in 1976 sold for $387,750 in an online only auction.
The Apple 1 was the very first Apple product and to finance its creation, Jobs allegedly sold his VW Microbus and Wozniak sold his HP-65 calculator.
The device was reportedly sold by a retired school psychologist from California and bought by an Italian collectors’ club.
While the sale included the fully functional motherboard and other components, it didn’t come with the original monitor. In May, another Apple 1 that did have the monitor sold for a massive $671,400.
At the more recent end of the Apple spectrum, the firm unveiled a radical new Mac Pro last month, shrinking the desktop computer down into a black cylindrical case measuring 9.9-inches tall and 6.6-inches wide.
