System builder plans to launch 'competitively priced' range before Christmas

YoYoTech developing own-brand PC gaming keyboard and mouse

System builder YoYoTech is working on its own-brand PC gaming keyboard, mouse and other accessories, PCR can exclusively reveal.

The performance specialist has a working prototype mouse and keyboard (pictured below) in its Basingstoke office, and hopes to launch a full version of both in time for the busy Christmas period this year.

The mouse features several buttons, back-lit parts (which can alternate between different colours set by the user) and the YoYoTech logo, while the keyboard also includes back-lighting, as well as normal keys and a braided cable.

YoYoTech says both products will be ‘competitively priced’ and will also be offered as part of various PC bundling packages. PCR understands the accessories won’t feature high-end premium pricing.

The brand has also teamed up with Thrustmaster to work on a steering wheel accessory.

YoYoTech MD CK told PCR: "We want to give retailers the whole solution. We’re going to start offering bundle packages with various different options available including the keyboard and mouse. We may develop other accessories in the future too.

"Our major aim is to become one of the biggest known PC gaming brands out there. We want to bring the PC back to the [retail] shelf."

Since being acquired by distributor and IT firm Centerprise last year, YoYoTech has been busy.

The brand launched a host of gaming desktops in December 2013 including an £8,000 ‘super PC’. It began supplying PC stores and resellers (including Ebuyer.com) as well as end consumers, moved to a new premises and hopes to officially open a trade counter there in the coming weeks.

"It’s been a hard journey but we have even bigger projects on the horizon," CK added.
