Over half of Brits immediately upload photos to social networking sites

More men admit to taking selfies than women

New research from Samsung reveals 17 per cent of UK men admit to taking selfies, compared to 10 per cent of women.

The survey of 2,000 people also revealed that over half of us immediately upload photos to social networking sites after taking them, with 19 per cent admitting they enjoy the social recognition they get when their content is liked, shared or retweeted.

The study was undertaken in association with the Samsung S4 Zoom, a smartphone with a 10x optical zoom lens.

While mobile devices continue to become an extension of our social lives, Samsung has also announced another extension – its digital partnership with The British Museum.

The partnership has been extended for another five years. Building on the success of the Samsung Digital Discovery Centre (SDDC), the tech firm plans to introduce new programmes and ways to expose schoolchildren to the museum’s collection using technology.

In other selfie news, phone-maker Kogan has released the Zuckerberg Selfie Stick, ideal of taking the perfect Facebook picture.
