Trademark comes a week after Valve’s trio of announcements

Half-Life 3 trademark filed by Valve

Valve has filed for a Half-Life 3 trademark in Europe, meaning the next offering of the dystopian FPS might not be too far away.

With Valve’s trio of announcements last week, many were expecting to see details about Half-Life 3. In actual fact, Valve unveiled SteamOS, Steam Machines, and a Steam controller.

While many gamers were disappointed at no mention of HL3, this latest news should give them some hope.

Whether the trademark indicates that the game will be released soon, or if Valve is just making sure a trademark troll doesn’t get there first, Half-Life 3 is possibly one of the most eagerly anticipated games of the past few years.
