TP-Link Systems has announced the successful completion of a Wi-Fi 8 connectivity test, marking a significant step forward in next-generation wireless development. Conducted in collaboration with industry partners, the test demonstrated data transmission using a prototype device, validating both beacon signalling and throughput performance.
With increasing device density and demand for bandwidth-intensive applications, the new standard aims to prioritise connection stability, coverage, and seamless roaming, particularly in congested environments.
The breakthrough confirms the feasibility of Wi-Fi 8, and unlike previous iterations focused on peak speed, it is engineered to support simultaneous device connections with minimal latency, even at extended distances from the router. The technology is expected to enhance user experience across residential and enterprise settings, supporting AI, IoT, and real-time applications.
