Seagate Technology Holdings. has made a strategic alliance with cybersecurity firm Acronis to deliver secure, scalable archival storage solutions tailored for managed service providers (MSPs) and enterprises facing AI-driven data growth.
The partnership integrates Seagate’s Lyve Cloud Object Storage into Acronis Archival Storage, a long-term, S3-compatible solution designed for infrequently accessed data. The offering is embedded within the Acronis platform and features a predictable cost model, avoiding API and traffic charges common among other vendors.
Targeting regulated industries such as healthcare, finance, legal, and utilities, the solution supports ISO 27001 and SOC 2 standards and includes encryption, access controls, and data immutability. It enables MSPs to meet audit and compliance mandates while managing petabyte-scale data economically.
“Acronis has led in hybrid cloud cybersecurity and backup,” said Melyssa Banda, SVP at Seagate. “Together, we’re enabling secure, compliant storage from cloud to edge to endpoint.”
Gaidar Magdanurov, President of Acronis, added: “With over 60% of organisations managing more than 1 PB of data, archival storage is essential. This alliance helps MSPs meet long-term retention, legal, and security requirements.”
