Canon bolsters MAXIFY series with three new business printers

Canon has launched the GX7150 and GX6150 MegaTank printers and BX110 with battery, the latest additions to its MAXIFY printer series. Designed for high-volume, high-quality printing, the MAXIFY GX7150 and GX6150 feature refillable ink tank technology, high-capacity paper cassettes, and a 50-sheet ADF. The MAXIFY BX110 is a mobile printer paired with an external battery, making printing possible even when on the go. Combining reliability and convenience, the new devices provide small businesses with a smart plug-and-play printing solution.

The new printers provide compact, flexible and scalable devices for various workspace scenarios, from clinics to real estate agents to warehouses.

Building on the MAXIFY GX7050 and GX6050, the GX7150 and GX6150 have enhanced image quality, workflow support and security features. The MAXIFY BX110 advances on the PIXMA TR150, providing improved connectivity and security. Maintaining its lightweight design and convenient charging via the external battery, the MAXIFY BX110 enables staff to print on the go and work from various locations, from outdoor sites to conference rooms.

With high-yield ink bottles, the MAXIFY GX7150 and GX6150 are designed for long-term use without frequent refills, reducing the cost associated with frequent replacements. Bottles also come at a low cost, while a high paper supply of 250 sheets per cassette (the MAXIFY GX7150 comes with two cassettes) and 100 sheet rear feed means that the cost per page is reduced. In economy mode, the devices are capable of printing up to 9,000 sheets in black or up to 21,000 sheets with a full set of ink bottles.

This contributes to significant cost reductions as the models offer savings of an average 90% on total cost of ownership compared to the top ten laser and inkjet models. Self-maintenance is also possible via a user-replaceable maintenance cartridge, eliminating the need for service calls. This allows the device to perform at full efficiency, ensuring continuity of operations for businesses, while also avoiding any associated costs.

The printers combine convenience with capability, delivering reliable and high-quality business documents in bold colour. The MAXIFY BX110 uses a hybrid ink system that uses pigment black ink and dye based colours, ensuring easy-to-read text and vivid imagery. Even when on the go, businesses can rely on quality output, enabling them to print documents such as estimates, proposals and maintenance reports when visiting customer sites.

Packed for productivity, both MAXIFY GX models have a 50-sheet ADF, while the GX7150 allows single pass two-sided scan. Printing at speeds of 24 ipm in black and 15.5 ipm in colour, the GX models can print on a range of media, from glossy paper to envelopes, and  provide pin-sharp detail, with a specific mode for fine elements like bar codes and QR codes. On plain paper, the print quality is sharp thanks to pigment ink and image processing technology, producing professional and durable documents that are water, highlighter and friction resistant. Even in economy mode, the printers offer professional quality, assuring businesses of the devices consistent output.

All these capabilities are delivered in a smaller product footprint, as the MAXIFY GX7150 and GX6150 printers can be fit under desks or small cupboards, ensuring businesses get the most out of their office space, even when downsizing. The MAXIFY BX110 is optimised for portability, with a lightweight build of 2.1kg, allowing users to easily carry the device for work trips.

With remote working and businesses operating across multiple sites, sharing documents across locations can often be a challenge. To address this, the MAXIFY GX7150 and GX6150 offer integrated workflow support, allowing documents to be easily scanned to emails, network folders, USBs and cloud-based storage locations using Cloud Link. This significantly improves document sharing and enhances productivity for users. Businesses can print, scan, copy and connect to the cloud through the Canon PRINT app for iOS and Android, enabling seamless collaboration across locations. The MAXIFY BX110 features enhanced connectivity, allowing for a more stable wireless connection with or without a Wi-Fi access point.

Users can be confident of the privacy of their documents as the devices are equipped with the latest security protocols. The printers support TLS1.3, a robust encrypted communication protocol that prevents information leaks, and WPA3-Personal, a wireless LAN protocol that prevents communication from being deciphered even if a user’s password is leaked.
