TD SYNNEX archives higher ecovadis for ESG

TD SYNNEX has have recently taken another step towards its sustainability goals, qualifying under the Bronze category and falling into the 50 percent of top performers in the EcoVadis Ratings for environmental, social, and governance (ESG).

The higher ranking has resulted from the extensive work going on right across the TD SYNNEX organisation, said Kevin Wragg, director, environment and quality compliance, UK. “The whole business is putting a lot of effort into making everything we do more sustainable and more ethically and socially responsible. That ranges from running employee business resource groups focusing on LGBTQ+ and diversity and inclusion, and community based activities to refurbishing our premises in Bracknell and sending furniture with a fair market value of more than £25,000 – via redistribution specialist charity, the Waste to Wonder Trust – to the You Are Not Alone Foundation in Ghana as part of that, to signing up for the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) at a global level.

“All this is helping us move towards our own goals and making us a more sustainable partner and supplier. That’s been reflected in our higher EcoVadis Rating and in many other ways. There is still more to do and in 2023 we will continue our efforts to enhance our status and standing as an environmentally and socially responsible organisation.”

EcoVadis is a global scoring company that rates companies on their ESG. The EcoVadis Ratings are trusted globally, and go beyond sustainability and consider other essential factors, such as ethics, environment, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement. Its methodology is built on international sustainability standards, including the Global Reporting initiative, the United Nations Global Compact and ISO 26000, covering 200-plus spend categories and 175 plus countries. In the Forrester New Wave™: ESG Ratings, Data, And Analytics, Q3 2022 report, EcoVadis was described as ‘the best fit for companies that want to track and improve their suppliers’ ESG.
