PCR’s LATEST ISSUE: DECEMBER/JANUARY 2021 OUT NOW!

As we enter into 2021 there is some positivity in the air as businesses look to move from 2020’s COVID crisis into 2021’s recovery phase.

Many businesses have already or are in the process of implementing a robust working from home infrastructure to keep employees safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. But in what is being described as the biggest remote/home working exercise ever undertaken, things are looking like they have changed for the long-term in the working world. This is opening up a plethora of new opportunities giving greater flexibility to workers on the upside, however on the downside threats such as data security, privacy issues and risk of cyber attacks on business are ever looming. But the channel is working hard to address these issues with a range of security offerings and hardware solutions to keep businesses up and running.

In this issue, with a special focus on remote/home working we have some very interesting insights with industry opinions from the likes of AOC focusing on how USB-C monitors are ideal for the new normal. Redstor reveals how the pandemic has changed attitudes to data protection. Giacom, explores the available solutions and tools designed to help resellers not just survive, but also thrive in a virtual world. Whilst Juniper explores how SD-WAN will be key in driving the transformation to new and more distributed ways of working. And Comms365 discusses how socially distanced teamwork can be simplified with the latest virtual platforms.

In a duo of Big Interviews, BullGuard’s CEO, Paul Lipman, talks about the importance of cyber security for small businesses. Whilst Lenovo DCG’s UK GM, Ian Jeffs, explores why companies should be driving ahead with a cloud initiative.

We may now all be more familiar with virtual meeting experiences after using platforms such as Zoom so no focus on remote/home working would be complete without speaking to Zoom Video Communications. Here the company’s Head of UK & Ireland, Phil Perry tells us about the latest updates to the platform.

Our sector guides cover some home/remote working essentials, from security software to laptops and Wi-Fi boosting devices.

As we continue to work from home we will all probably be looking to make a few New Year’s resolutions to help us through. For me top of my list will probably be a few more tea breaks with the dog.
