Cohesity appoints Andrew Fitzgerald as sales director for Western Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa

Cohesity has announced the appointment of Andrew Fitzgerald as sales director for Western Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Based in the UK, Fitzgerald will lead the company’s business development strategy across the European and African markets while empowering customers and partners to embrace the company’s modern data management capabilities.

Fitzgerald brings to Cohesity more than 30 years of IT solution sales experience across major enterprise IT businesses including Palo Alto Networks, NetApp, IBM, Sun Microsystems, and Hitachi Data Systems. Fitzgerald has a deep understanding of the data management sector which will play a key role in helping companies address mass data fragmentation challenges, where data is trapped in silos that make it hard to protect, expensive to manage, and difficult to analyse. Cohesity unifies these data silos onto one platform, simplifying backup and management while making data much more productive on-premises and in the cloud.

“Cohesity is disrupting the data management industry. I’m looking forward to working with customers and partners to really unlock the capability of the data they own and keep it safe and recoverable.” said Fitzgerald. “We have an exceptional solution that makes it easier for organisations to back up, manage, and derive value from their data. I am excited to extend our presence in Western Europe and in Africa while helping businesses across these regions accelerate their transformation.”

Dirk Marichal, vice president of sales, EMEA, at Cohesity, commented: “We’re thrilled to have Andrew join the team. With over 30 years enterprise go-to-market experience, he’s a valuable addition to our organisation.

“The role will see Andrew drive sales in the UK and Ireland, but also in Sub-Saharan Africa, where customers are looking for a modern approach to data management. These are two very different markets with unique complexities and differing economies, but Andrew has experience in these regions from his previous roles. I’m confident he’ll have a significant impact with driving local sales, working hand-in-hand with partners, and in doing so furthering the EMEA contribution to worldwide growth.”
