McAfee appoints Keiron Holyome as new UK Public Sector Director

Security software maker McAfee has appointed Keiron Holyome as regional director for the UK public sector.

Holyome will be responsible for driving McAfee’s growth in this area, at a time when the firm says all organisations within the public sector are looking to bolster their resistance to cyber attacks.

Adam Philpott, EMEA president at McAfee, commented: “No single person, product or organisation can fight cybercrime alone. At McAfee we believe that “Together is Power”; that collaboration is truly the key to strengthening the country’s cyber defences. In today’s threat landscape, this must go beyond protecting data and systems to detecting threats proactively and ensuring processes are in place to correct systems quickly if targeted.

“It means having partnerships beyond technology, including sharing our people and intelligence with our strategic partners. We’re delighted that Keiron will be continuing our successful collaboration with the UK public sector and driving growth in this area.”

Holyome possesses nearly 20 years of experience in sales leadership roles at multinational technology organisations, having previously held positions at Computacenter, Gartner, Lenovo and Dell. He moves to lead McAfee’s public sector business after 18 months in a broader sales role within the company.

“The cyber threats facing the Public Sector are more numerous and sophisticated than ever before,” said Holyome. “I’m drawn to McAfee’s vision and proven ability to secure vital institutions and will be focused on fostering further collaboration with our Public Sector colleagues to protect critical services across the country.”

He continued: “The Public Sector is undergoing a major shift as digital transformation processes take place across the NHS, Local Government, Higher Education institutions and Central Government functions. It’s an exciting yet challenging time, with many organisations looking to start or continue their migration to cloud-based infrastructure as a result.

“McAfee is perfectly positioned as a leading device-to-cloud cybersecurity company to help them do this securely and successfully. I am looking forward to leading McAfee’s UK Public Sector drive, with a real focus on working closely with our customers to meet their needs and enable them to overcome regulatory compliance hurdles while combatting cyber adversaries.”

At McAfee, Holyome will be responsible for growing the public sector business in the UK, developing stronger partnerships and driving sales of McAfee’s device-to-cloud security portfolio.
