Richard Hinds named UK&I COO at Exertis

Exertis has announced the promotion of Richard Hinds to the newly created position of chief operating officer.

Reporting to Paul Bryan, Exertis UK & I, managing director, Hinds will have responsibility for the finance, purchasing, IT, logistics and customer services functions. Hinds was previously group finance director for Exertis UK & I.

“Richard has created an excellent finance function in the last three years and I am confident that he can replicate his achievements in the added areas of responsibilities that he now has taken on in this new role. As we continue to grow our business, Richard and his experienced team of direct reports will ensure we deliver a consistently high level of service to our customers whenever they engage with Exertis,” said Bryan.

Hinds joined Exertis in 2015 from Flogas, an energy company which is part of the DCC group, where he spent three years as the finance director. Prior to that, he worked at Speedy Hire in a variety of senior finance and operational roles, having previously spent four years serving in the Army.

“I am delighted to be taking on this challenging role in what is an exciting time for Exertis as we continue to grow our business both organically and by acquisition. The UK and Ireland businesses are in great shape and I am fortunate to be inheriting a highly capable team that has many years’ experience in their respective roles,” said Hinds.

Mark Kahr, Exertis UK purchasing director; Sion Wineyard, Exertis UK operations director; Nigel Arkwright, UK IT director and Meurig Evans, Exertis UK & I finance director will all report to Hinds. Kahr will also have an expanded global brief in addition to his UK role.
