Axis appoints VP for EMEA region

Axis Communications has appointed Verena Rathjen as vice president for the EMEA region. Rathjen will take responsibility for Axis’ long-term success in the region and ensuring the strategic direction of the company’s expanded solution offering in a growing market.

Rathjen has moved to Axis from LEDVANCE, where she held the position of vice president and was responsible for the global smart business in Europe. Rathjen said that Axis’ ‘strong company values’ were a big reason in her decision to join the company.

She said: “My ambition and passion is to work with skilled and smart people to drive business growth and create value for our society. Axis’ vision to contribute to a smarter and safer world is in that matter highly relevant, and the strong company values were an instant fit to mine. I am therefore excited to further develop our portfolio across EMEA to create value for our customers and all of us in our daily lives.”

Bodil Sonesson, vice president for global sales at Axis, added: "Axis is a fast-growing company, with a continuously expanding portfolio of products and solutions. Naturally, we need to develop our organisation to further strengthen our leading position in a growing and changing market. The EMEA region is big and diverse, and shows a lot of opportunities. Verena Rathjen will have vital role in driving the strategic expansion of Axis’ business in this market and working together with very strong regional management teams.”
