Samsung Galaxy Note users reporting battery issues

Some owners of Galaxy Note 8 smartphones have reported that they have been unable to charge their handset after fully running the battery out. 

The Korean firm has been trying to address the issues on an individual basis and has been quick to stress that it has received "a very limited number of reports which could be associated with the power management circuit."

Thankfully, unlike the previous Galaxy Note handset, the issue is limited to a relatively small number of users and doesn’t seem to be of any concerns to battery safety. The issue – that of the units not retaining a  small amount of energy needed for charging control – is one that has commonly appeared in other phones as well.

Samsung has for now advised that affected users hand their phones over for a warranty replacement or try something called stack charging. This works by plugging and unplugging the phone charger for 10-15 seconds at a time, 30 seconds apart, to generate enough energy to get the phone going again. The downside here is that you’ll only get enough juice into the phone after about 100 attempts – or 20 minutes. 

Despite its arduousness, any process that can save the awkward routine of having to get a new phone up-to-date with all of your apps and contacts is worth it for my money. 

These are the only solutions we have been provided with for now, with the spokesperson adding, "we are unable to comment further until we obtain more specific information from the phone.
