Four.
That is the number of cameras on Alcatel’s latest smartphone – Alcatel Flash.
The phone itself is 5.5-inches with a metallic body, and posesses a full HD screen, a Helio X20 deca-core processor, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a fingerprint scanner on the back and a 3,100mAh battery. The specs aren’t pulling up any trees, but Alcatel is putting all the emphasis on this phone as, above all, a shooter.
On the back of the phone you have two 13-megapixel sensors. One of them takes colour photos and the other shoots in black and white. Both have an aperture size of f/2.0 with the thought process being that the sharper black and white image is combined with the colour one to get sharper and more detailed photos.
The front sees one 8-megapixel sensor complimented by a 5-megapixel one. Both have the same aperture as the cameras on the rear. In an effort to make it a camera-enthusiasts’ phone, users can store RAW images as well as the ability to adjust the focus after the photo has been taken.
While it might seem excessive to some, Alcatel’s decision to launch a phone with two selfie cameras isn’t unprecedented after vendors like Oppo, Vivo and LG all have introduced phones with dual selfie cameras.
Alcatel hasn’t given any pricing or availability details for the Flash, but we’d imagine it would be competitive with Huawei’s camera-focused P9 smartphone.
