Nvidia launches GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti for laptops

Sneaking in ahead of the official kick-off of CES today, Nvidia has launched the GeForce GTX 1050 and 1050 Ti for laptops.

The cards are the littlest siblings of the 10 series, but they are still capable of packing a fair bit of a punch. The 1050 and 1050 Ti are the latest of the series to make the jump to the smaller form factor, following the launch of the 1060, 1070 and 1080 for laptops in 2016.

Rather than having seperate laptop SKUs, the 10 series has more or less the same specs across the board as their desktop counterparts. As a result, we roughly know already what the specs of the 1050 and 1050 Ti will be already.

Nvidia promises that over 30 laptops will ship with the 1050 and 1050 Ti in the first quarter of 2017 from OEMS including Acer, Alienware, ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI and others.

Many models will be demoed at CES and will be available for sale later this week with all of them featuring Intel’s newest Kaby Lake platform for laptops. Final pricing will vary, but the company expects that GTX 1050-equipped laptops will start at around $699
