MCV launches eSports Pro Awards for 2016

PCR’s sister publication MCV will launch the eSports Pro Awards in September 2016 – a brand new event recognising the players, companies, games, and more behind the fast growing UK eSports scene.

The eSports market was worth an estimated $612 million in 2015, with an audience of around 134 million. The phenomenon is already well established in places like China, South Korea and North America, and with ever growing demand and investment in 2016, it is expected to significantly expand in Europe over the coming years.

MCV is the leading trade media organisation for the video game industry, and launched the eSports Pro brand this year. It is the first dedicated B2B source for pro-gaming news, a twice-a-week bulletin keeping you up to date with the information you need on this exciting new area of the games market.

With a database of global readers, including leaders of sports associations (both eSports and traditional sports), top games publishers and developers, MCV is at the heart of the UK eSports community – and the launch of the eSports Pro Awards will for the first time bring this community together to celebrate successes, and to provide an important networking platform.

The eSports Pro Awards will recognise the entire breadth of firms and individuals working within eSports – with categories including eSports Athlete, eSports Game, eSports Accessories Brand, Venue of the year, Shoutcaster and eSports Innovation.

More details will be announced soon. For further information about the event, eSports Pro or sponsorship opportunities, please contact Andrew Wooden on
